Kickboxing Classes for Kids & Youth
Structured kids kickboxing classes for ages 4–13 focused on coordination, discipline, movement, and safe striking fundamentals. New students can start with a free trial class.
What Are Our Kids Kickboxing Classes?
Our Kids Kickboxing classes are structured striking sessions designed specifically for children. Training focuses on punching and kicking mechanics, balance, coordination, footwork, listening skills, and controlled partner drills.
Unlike Muay Thai, kickboxing does not include elbows and allows only limited clinch work. This creates a style that emphasizes movement, angles, and longer striking combinations.
Classes are technical and structured, not cardio kickboxing or fitness-only sessions. Every session is coach-led and designed to build real skill in a safe and supportive environment.
Kids Kickboxing Class Groups by Age
Kickboxing for Kids (Ages 4–7)
Classes for younger children focus on coordination, balance, and basic striking mechanics through structured drills and engaging exercises.
Training introduces:
-
Basic stance and guard
-
Fundamental punching and kicking technique
-
Movement and balance drills
-
Simple combinations
-
Listening, focus, and discipline
Sessions are active and structured while remaining fun and age-appropriate. The goal is to build confidence, coordination, and foundational striking mechanics in a safe setting.
Kickboxing for Kids (Ages 8–13)
Older children train in more structured technical classes with greater emphasis on combination work, timing, and controlled partner drills.
Training includes:
-
Correct punching and kicking technique
-
Longer punch–kick combinations
-
Footwork and angle creation
-
Pad work and bag work
-
Controlled partner drills under supervision
As students mature, sessions become more technically detailed while remaining safe and fully supervised.
Muay Thai & Kickboxing Classes (Trained in Tandem)
Our Kids Kickboxing and Kids Muay Thai programs are structured to complement each other while maintaining clear technical differences.
In Kids Kickboxing:
-
Elbows are not permitted
-
Only one knee is allowed in the clinch
-
Prolonged clinch exchanges are not allowed
-
There are no sweeps or projections
-
If a kick is caught, it must be released before any counterattack
Because there are fewer close-range weapons available, kickboxing naturally develops:
-
More footwork
-
More angle changes
-
Longer striking combinations
-
Greater emphasis on distance management
Muay Thai, in contrast, allows elbows and extended clinch work, meaning more weapons are available from closer range and from more static positions.
Kickboxing therefore emphasizes movement and range, while Muay Thai emphasizes close-range tools and clinch control. Many families choose to have their children train both disciplines to develop a well-rounded striking foundation.
