My son has been going there for 7 years now and is loving it! We actually go to all 3 locations from time to time and are very happy with the teachers and the infrastructures. I even go myself now.

Three of my children joined in December. They are now attending Kids Camp. The first 5 days were fun and enjoyable. The kids are very satisfied. Not only competition skills, but they also teach important things for their growth such as core training, courtesy and mentality. Even if they do not speak English, they are taught in a way they can understand.

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Ranking & Belt System for Kids

How Grading Works for No-Gi Training

Kids No-Gi Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu follows the same structured Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu grading system as Gi classes.

Although No-Gi training is performed without the gi, belt ranks represent a child’s overall Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu level, not a separate No-Gi ranking.

Formal belt grading takes place during Gi Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu classes, where ranks are officially awarded.
However, the belt rank applies equally to both Gi and No-Gi training, and children follow the same rank across all Kids Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu classes.

Grading is based on consistency, technical understanding, and attitude, in a supportive and age-appropriate environment.

Kids BJJ Belt Progression

Children progress through coloured belts (White, Grey, Yellow, Orange, Green with stripes), allowing advancement that matches their physical, technical, and emotional development.

Promotions are awarded through instructor evaluation rather than competition results.

At Monarchy MMA, we follow the Kids IBJJF official belt grading system.
