Diego Vargas
BJJ, No-Gi, MMA & Muay-Thai
Diego Vargas brings 17 years of experience to Monarchy MMA.

He picked up Muay-Thai while he was a 15-year-old, and ever since embarking on the beautiful journey, the Brazilian instructor has ventured into a couple more martial arts, most notably in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, securing a gold medal at the 2019 Seoul IBJJF No-Gi tournament, and three more podium finishes at the same tournament in different categories.
Not only does he possess a wealth of experience in BJJ, but Vargas also boasts a formidable mixed martial arts record of 16 fights under his name apart from his experience in “the art of eight limbs”.
His goal at Monarchy MMA is straightforward – to make sure he passes on valuable knowledge to his newest batch of students. To him, seeing his students succeed and improving themselves on and off the mats is what motivates him to keep on improving as an individual and a coach.
His path in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu:
- Black Belt under Cristiano Marcello since April/2017.
- 1st Black Belt under Cristiano Marcello since February/2021.
Record:
- MMA: 9-6
