Weight Lifting & Performance Area
We are currently installing built-in weight lifting areas in all of our branches starting with City Centre.
We have a specific vision for our weight lifting / performance area. Instead of having machine weights with cable or electric cardio machines like in conventional fitness gyms, we chose to orientate our power lifting program in a CrossFit look alike area but without following the highly criticised aspects of Crossfit such as running reps against the clock which has a high probability of injury.
Our primary goal is to strengthen muscles to reduce the probability of injuries to our students when participating in our martial art / combat sports programs. With the reduced probability of injury they will be more consistent in their attendance and significantly accelerate their growth as martial artists.
We will concentrate on slow reps with a focus on good form, rather than fast sets with high repetitions.
Secondly our goal of course is increased performance in combat sport, higher explosivity, better resistance, tighter grips in our grappling oriented combat sports, etc
What mainly links injury prevention & explosively for combat sports, are strong glutes and hamstrings that is why we are very particular in bringing a dedicated Hip Thrust & Nordic Curl station for both instead of combining a bench and barbel.
Our long term vision is to always have a Fitness trainers on stand-by supervising the students in weight lifting area and following up each students weight lifting program and correcting their posture and movement if needed.
Our Boxing Headcoach Taina Graeff Campoli & MMA Headcoach Prof Marcelo Barreira both being graduated in Physical education have the expertise to orientate you in weight & strength training journey.

We will have a strength & conditioning program for each combat sport the students decide to focus on, with a few modifications depending on each students condition and need.
The area is equipped with full size rack stations for squats, combinable benches for bench presses, supply of full plates, Erg Machine, Rowing machine, full dumbbell rack, multiple types of barbells, multiple accessories combinable with plates.
