Originally from Colombia, Gustavo began training in Jiu-Jitsu in 2007, developing a lifelong passion for the art. His journey has been marked by a balance between competition and instruction, allowing him to build a deep technical foundation while also learning how to pass on his knowledge effectively to others.

During his years living in London, Gustavo competed in events such as Grappling Industries, gaining valuable experience against a wide variety of opponents. These experiences not only sharpened his skills but also reinforced his love for the strategic and technical depth of Jiu-Jitsu.

In recent years, Gustavo’s focus has shifted towards coaching. He is passionate about helping students of all levels—from kids taking their first steps on the mats to advanced practitioners looking to refine their games. His teaching style emphasizes technical precision, conceptual understanding, and the importance of building a strong foundation.

For the past two and a half years, Gustavo has been based in Malaysia, where he is part of the Monarchy MMA Mont Kiara team. Here, he leads kids, beginners, and advanced classes, committed to growing the Jiu-Jitsu community and sharing the art he has dedicated nearly two decades to mastering.
