Tell us about yourself

My name is Jesse O’Rullian. I am from Fort Collins, Colorado. I currently train over at Bali MMA.

I have 5 years of experience coaching and corning kids, beginners, amatuers, and professionals in Boxing, Kickboxing, Jiu-jitsu, and MMA. I have been training for 9 years. I’m a Boxing Level 1 Coach (USA). I was lucky to have so many UFC level coaches and fighters to train with and learn from.

What do you like about martial arts?

I enjoy coaching because it is so rewarding to see people develop faith and confidence in themselves. I have been very fortunate to have my coaches. They take time to really help me and in a way I feel that by coaching I am carrying the torch. This to me is the root of martial arts. “Carrying the torch.” Sharing and caring for others. Martial arts are filled with some of the kindest and most positive people. It’s my goal as a coach to help each student feel more confident not only in their martial arts but in their ability to face adversity.

How has being a fighter changed your perspective?

As a martial artist and a professional fighter I believe that fundamentals and strong mental practices are the foundation of fighting. To me what makes fighting so special– is that each fighter has a unique body type, personality, and capabilities–because of this in order to really grow, one must have imagination. Figuring out what you intuitively do well and pairing it with another tool.

Describe your fight style

Stylistically, I enjoy pushing a pace and creating collisions. I always look for the knockout. I like to stay at range and then crash the box. Body shots and head kicks are my bread and butter. People pay hard earned money to watch me fight so I believe in putting on a show. My fight record is:

5-2 MMA

3-0 Muay Thai

1-0 Boxing

Including 7 first round knockouts
