In every martial art, sparring is a major component for a martial artist to develop skills and practical knowledge of concepts. By definition, sparring is a type of “free-form” fighting, sparring as a component has enough rules, customs or unofficial agreements to minimize injuries and maximize learning. While drills, exercises and form practice may be performed without a partner, sparring essentially requires a partner for a martial artist to reap the maximum benefit.

International Masters Asia and Tokyo Open

Earlier this year, our Brazilian Jiujitsu team traveled to the Philippines to compete at the Manila Open organised the International Brazilian Jiujitsu Federation.

11 of them successfully brought home a medal each and some, brought home 2! This time round, our Monarchy BJJ Team of 9 repeated the same achievement at the International Masters Asia and Tokyo Open hosted by IBJJF just last month.

Our resident Pakistani fighter Hussain recently went through a tough battle against Dhiaaul Amal for the Octagon Fighting Championship Finals on the 22nd of June 2019. Having won the belt despite losing to Amal via Armbar during the early stages of the tournament, Hussain was able to muster a performance against Amal. Kids BJJ At Monarchy MMA

This year we expanded and added a 3rd branch over in Mont Kiara, Kuala Lumpur.  

At our newest branch kids classes are available everyday with Muay Thai, Boxing, Brazilian Jiujitsu and Wrestling.

But of course, we want to encourage that they come for all classes to experience the different forms of martial arts from striking, takedown and ground based martial arts.

Yoga For Fighters; Phase Or Stretch?

The MMA fighter throws punches, kicks, gets taken down, lands on his back, narrowly escapes getting submitted. Wrestling based, Jiujitsu or Muay Thai based, they all go through this in a mixed martial arts fight where it ends either by scorecard, knockout or submission.
